I really like this knife. I wanted to go with more of a Bowie shaped blade. I don't make a lot of Bowie style knives, and this would be about as close as I get.

The blade is my high contrast san mai. The core steel is 1095. The spine is fileworked and slightly tapered. I left the forge scale on the flats, because I like it.

The bolster area is black canvas micarta, and the handle is natural canvas micarta.

The sheath is 7-8oz hand tooled and stitched leather. The knife fits snugly and draws easily.

Dimensions
Blade - just over 5 3/4" tip to handle
OAL - 10 1/4"

Price - $330 shipped to US. I prefer paypal to matt@baileyknives.com, but will accept check or money order

The first to post here "I'll take it!" gets it.

It is yours, LA.

I think you will really like this one.

Thanks

THIS ONE! and the next one and the next one! :D Nice score LA, Matt really liking the work on the sheath. Good job. And the hamon on this one just pops off the blade. That or your photography is getting better. ;)

I'm Los Angeles and I approve of this message. though, I don't think that's a hamon you're seeing. ;)

LA is right. It is not a hamon, just the two different steels coming together. But I did make it to replicate a hamon, so I am glad that is what it looks like.

I didnt even read the description. As soon as I see a Bailey knife posted I just open up the page. San Mai!! Still looks like a hamon tho, if that is what you were shooting for you hit a homerun. I didn't figure your photography had gotten that much better in such a short time. LOL.
