Here is a San Mai knife. The outer layers are a low carbon high nickel steel, and the cutting edge is some of Aldo's 1084. I left the forge scale on the flats and fileworked the spine.

The handle is some natural micarta that must be quite old, I haven't seen much with such dark aged color in a while. It is held in place with pins and acraglas.

The sheath is 8-9oz hand stitched and hand tooled leather from Wickett and Craig. It holds the sheath snugly and allows it to draw easily.

Dimensions
Blade - 3 5/8"
OAL - 8 1/4"

Price - $250 shipped to US. I prefer paypal but will accept check or money order.

The first to post here "I'll take it!" gets it.

Nice one! Cripes, my hands never look that good - I'll bet you were gloves!!

Very nice Matt, that is by far my favorite blade shape of yours. Keep up the excellent work!!

Matt,

For what it's worth, I've been oogling your work since you first started posting here. This, for whatever reason, is my favorite that you've made. Very utilitarian. I'd love to see this profile in your regular lineup. Love the handle and blade shape. Your leatherwork is absolutely beautiful. Love the rivot at the sheath mouth. Your work truly embodies functional artwork. Well played, Sir!

Prof.
