This is some of my san mai. It consists of high nickel outer layers and a 1095 core. It is etched for contrast. The forge scale is left on the flats. The spine is fully fileworked.

The handle is black G10. It almost looks like carbon fiber. It is held in place with normal pins and one mosaic, along with acraglas.

The sheath is 8-10oz hand stitched and tooled leather from Wickett and Craig. It holds the knife securely and allows it to draw easily.

Dimensions
Blade - 4 7/8"" tip to handle
OAL -9 1/4"

Price - $330 shipped to US. I prefer paypal, but will accept check or money order.

The first to post here "I'll take it!" gets it.

Sat there looking at both this and the bone but decided I like this one. My first G10 fixed.

I will take it.

What kind of steel is the outer layer? That contrast looks great!

Ben, that is my trade secret...
Just kidding, it is called A203E. I chose it because it has very high nickel, like 3% or something. It is used to make propane tanks and tanks that hold other gasses. Dont really want them rusting through on you. The best part of it is that it etches in layers. It looks like high layer damascus when you look at it. I wish I could get a picture of it accurately, but I have not yet been able to. When I had it the first time at a knife show, I asked a customer how many layers he thought it was and he said something like 800.
I said "Nope, three!"
And he said "well, yeah, but the outer layers are damascus."
And I said "Nope, the outer layers are just one layer each.

Anyways, the stuff looks cool as heck when you see it first hand.
