It's kinda funny, I have become very interesting in making San-Mai blades at the same time that CS is telling knifemakers not to use that name.
I made one like this a few days ago, but this one is a lot larger. The blade alone is 12"
It has a 1084 core and wrought iron from a buggy wheel on the outside.
