I was planning on taking this one to my upcoming knife show in a couple weeks, but I need gas money to get out there! So here it is.

This is san mai, the core steel is Aldo's 1084 and the sandwich layers are a low carbon high nickel steel. The flats have been left with the forge scale.

The handle is black canvas micarta with Cocobolo. It is sculpted to fit the hand well and it is held securely with peened pins and G-Flex epoxy.

The sheath is hand tooled leather from Wickett and Craig. The knife slides in nicely yet is held securely.

Dimensions
Blade - 6 1/4" tip to handle
OAL - 11 1/4"

Price - $345 shipped to US. I prefer paypal, but will accept check or money order.

The first to post here "I'll take it!" gets it.

I haven't seen one of your san mai pieces in a while, Matt. If I come along one in edc size in time then I'll pounce!

Mason, I'm loving the little san mai piece I got from you!

amflud, I have 3 that are going to the show with me that might be in your range. If I don't happen to sell them, I will let you know.

Greg, this one is yours. I will send you paypal info. Thanks!

Jim, I can't wait to see that damascus knife you posted a while ago. That thing is amazing!

A beautiful knife. One question.. Do you peen the pins before or after the epoxy hardens?

Delta. I actually set up all the scales with removable steel pins coated with car wax. I tap them out with a hammer and pliers. Then I shape the handle sans pins, then I counter sink the holes and put in brass pins and peen. Then I finish the handle.

I just acquired one of your fine pieces from another member here. Glad this one's gone...I might not have been able to resist it, either. Keep 'em coming.
Pete

Matt I hope your show was a success. I received the knife today and as always I am very happy. Thank you.

I just received my Bailey and I'm very impressed with the beautiful design and craftsmanship. Well done. I'll be looking forward to seeing more of your work.

The cocobolo/black micarta handle might as well be trademarked by Matt! I have a lot of Bailey knives and this handle combination has been such a standout from the beginning.

Very, very well done again!
