San mai with mahogany.


A finished san mai cutter.
It is 20.5 cm long with a 10.5 cm long blade, which I forged of 5160, L6 and 1.2516. The handle is made of mahogany.

Beautiful San Mai and lovely mahogany. If I may make one suggestion it would be to add a pommel (or alter the shape of the handle) to prevent it from slipping forward out of the hand during chopping motions.
