This is my second mortised tang. It is really nice and fits up very tight. The seam between the two layers are almost imperceptible. The blade is 1084 from Aldo as the core steel, and it has high nickel and low carbon "sandwich" layers. It is razor sharp with a nice thin grind.

The handle is natural canvas micarta. As stated, the seam is almost invisible. I used a granite plate to flatten the pieces before gluing them up. It is all held together with peened pins and G-flex epoxy. The guard is stainless with a black linen micarta spacer. It polished up nicely.

The sheath is 8-9oz hand tooled leather from Wickett and Craig. The knife slips in snugly and draws easily.

Dimensions
Blade - 4 1/8" tip to guard
OAL - 9"

Price - $300 shipped to US. I prefer paypal, but will accept check or money order.

The first to post here "I'll take it!" gets it.

I really like the San Mai pattern on this knife and the contour of the handle looks like it would fit the hand very well. The handle reminds me of an old set of original Guy Hogue hand carved grips for a S & W Model 19. Really nice craftsmanship.

Thanks everyone. This really is a comfortable knife to hold. I am really happy with how it turned out.

Just received one of Matt's knives guys let me tell ya they are perfect in every way!!! You won't be disappointed.

Thanks Shane. I am glad you like that other knife. I just started to get into hidden tangs again "now that I have a new mill" and I really like the freedom of creating the handles.
