I never thought about this, but I've got two emails about this already so here it is.

If someone wants a Nessmuk blank (1010/1070 sides, 5160 core) like the ones below, to do your own grinding, just let me know, they're $85 shipped (registered airmail) and PayPal'd

A bit more of info :)

Blanks are annealed, and are 8 1/4" long (about, they're all cut by hand, so they might be slight differences) to get a finished blade of 8" OAL and 5/32" thickness.

For HT, I do the following:

1. Take them to 850C and quench in oil at 60C.
2. Take them to 270C, keep them at that temperature for 20 minutes and then quench in oil at 60C.

They are san mai damascus, with a 5160 core and 1010/1070 sides. The resulting piece will be like the Nessmuks I've been putting up for a long time now.
