This is some of my san mai. It is 1084 as the core steel, and high nickel low carbon layers for the "sandwich" layers. It is razor sharp and ready to go.
The handle is black and blue g-10. It is quite a bit more black than blue. You can see the blue if you look, but it tends to look more black.
The sheath is 7-8oz hand tooled leather from Wickett and Craig. It is made to slip in the pocket like a cell phone.
