Here's the San Mai I've been making lately....

A- High carbon core, mild cladding, single nickel spacer.
B- High carbon core, mild cladding, nickel/steel/nickel spacer.
C- Plain ol' 1095, SS cladding.
D- O1 tool steel core, SS cladding.

An S5/SS mix is in the works, but I don't have any ready yet.

Careful man, you'll get your peepee slapped for trying to advertise/sell with out a dealer or maker membership.

C is my favorite too. Higher contrast really makes it shine

Nice looking san-mai.

For those who didn't see it, Silverthorn did a great video last year on making a cleaver with a hot-dog weld billet.

He has the membership level to post photos and discuss the items he sells. His steel is in the Exchange forum, so keep any requests by email/PM or in the Exchange.

Nice. What stainless steel are you using for the hot dog bun?:D

I'm surprised (and pleased) that Mr. Apelt remembers that video! That bun was a 1"sq piece of A36. IF it is allowed, I'll post the link to my YouTube channel when I get home this evening.

Feel free. That is one of the privileges of a Knifemaker membership.

Well, if you're gonna do them for free, I would ask for a SS/SS variety, but with SS damascus outer. Maybe a 440C/Nickle with a 52100 core.

If I'm gonna beg, beg big.
