This is someof my san mai. It has 1084 core steel and high nickel, low carbon sandwich layers. It was hand polished to 800 grit and etched to show the layers.
The handle hemp wrapped and epoxy soaked. The epoxy is boatbuilding epoxy which makes it waterproof and incredibly durable. It has a good grip and actually feels good int he hand.
The sheath is 7-8oz hand tooled leather from Wickett and Craig. The knife holds nicely and draws easily.
