This is a knife that I made as a demo for teaching a forge welding class. It is mild steel over 1095 so be aware that you can't get a good spark with a fire starter from the edge of the spine. I do like the contrast though.
Heat treated in my Evenheat furnace to Rc 58-60 with attention to a fine grain structure throughout the blade
Flat grind hand sanded to 600 grit and a quick acid etch
Stabilized curly maple handle
Overall length: 8 inches
Blade: 3 1/2 inches
Leather scabbard with a belt loop for a right hand carry
