Sand blasting, bead blasting, etc.

Hello,

I am finishing out a larger knife out of 3V. I want this to be a user, and I am lazy

So my basic question is what all of you think about sand or bead blasting? What grit I should grind to before blasting? Will it take off enough material to unflatten my tang? And any other concerns that come to mind.

I would not blast a carbon steel and leave it bare-like petah said you will have serious rust problems unless you Parkerize it or use some other protective finish/coating.
