Sand blasting

I just got a new Harbor Freight tabletop blast cabinet. I have a shop vac hooked up to exhaust the dust when blasting. When I turn the shop vac on the gloves fill with air and are so stiff I can hardly move them. Anyone know how to stop that?

Where is the shop vac hooked up (The left side or the back?) ? It sounds like you have no inlet with outside air coming in so its simply pulling full force on everything. Mine is hooked up to the left side, with the back open and bringing in new air which keeps the dust flowing towards the vacuum port.

Thanks Teter09. I've got the back side opening taped over. Will pull of the tape and try that.

Yep, you were right. Pulled the tape off the hole in the back and it works fine - no more air filled gloves.

Get a smaller shop vac. I used a 1 gallon tiny shop vac and it worked great. The bigger vac was too much vacuum.
