FINALLY!!!!!!
After MONTHS of slaving away and doing the work/sleep/eat/work/sleep/eat I was able to go for a real hike with a friend of mine and out dogs. His is the Chocolate Lab and mine is the Belgian Malinois. This is about 15 minutes west of Cortez and is very similar to Red Rock Canyon just west of Vegas.

Pics uploading and will be posted momentarily.

The pack is courtesy of Dbltap45acp...thanks again man! I just threw a 100oz bladder in it and I was good to go. It was only a 6 hour hike and quite warm so no bush crafting other than my delica carving a few oranges up...the next excursion will likely be to Molas Pass next week so we can do a cold weather jaunt...a good excuse to make a fire and brew some coffee.

My buddy Mike, who I was hiking with, is an avid and competetive mountain biker and LOVES this place for a good MB trek...I stick to my truck or my feet. I tend to do damage when I take bikes off pavement.

Hoping to break out your Canadian fatwood in Molas Pass in the next week or two.

Not to throw it too off topic but I ran into the Captain at a local Rite Aid, he is just as intimidating without the makeup! But he was very friendly, I was like a school girl being a huge Devils Rejects and 1000 Corpses fan. And Ken Foree works out at my gym, pretty cool.

Sid rules! One of my favorite characters of all time.

P.S. It's my thread and I am totally cool with thread derailment. :)

He lives about 15 minutes from me, and I've been wearing a DR or Rob Zombie shirt and people in stores say hey I see that guy in here all the time!

Great Photos and good looking dogs too

Thanks for posting

Thanks!
I love my Mal. Being a trainer for the last 10 years I also trained them both. My Mal, GoGo (yes as in Kill Bill), has retrieval, protection and high level obedience on her...the Chocolate , Barley (my buddy owns a brew pub here in town), has basic obedience and heals to the rear axle of my buddy's mountain bike...great day. People always gt a kick out of it when I put my Mal on huge rocks to get her off the trail so they can pass.

Nice ink

Maybe I'll post some updated photos of mine when I have time to get in front of a camera.
