Awsome, I love that type of terrain. I really need to take a couple days off of knifemaking and spend some time in the woods!

I think the last time I hiked Red Rock Canyon in Vegas was 2002. There is a nice Jeep trail in back that runs about 8.5 miles back to another highway (can't remember which one). Used to hike that in and back for a nice hot August day hike.
