I'll toss out an option that many who are handy can do for cheap.

Get a belt sander discs sander combo for cheap. The motor size isn't important ( a unit that has a bad motor will be perfect...and maybe free). A 4 or 6" belt width grinder can be re-worked into a 2" grinder, too. Build a good table/workrest for the belt, and a glass platen. Take off the disc and put a pulley on in its place. Use a 1/2 to 3/4HP motor and a V-belt to run the grinder ( bundle up or cut off the old cord). A multi pulley will make speed change possible. This is something I did with an old Jet 4" belt sander/disc combo about 20 years ago. It worked fine for what i wanted it to do.

You can get 2" wide belts in 36,42,48, and 60", so any size old grinder can probably be converted. If the grinder is already a 2" wide type, the conversion can be done with hand tools and for yard sale expense.
