Could someone direct me to someone who sells sanding drums with 1/4' shanks and also 3/4", 1" and 11/2" sleeves. Thanks for any info.

I believe your local hardware store will have those in a set. I hope they are that hand for you. Frank

I would check Grizzly industrial online and see. Look under "sanders" then click on one of the oscillating spindle sanders and check out the accessories next to it. I just ordered a few dozen last night for mine, which are for a 1/2 inch spindle but I believe they have plenty of other sizes.

Here is a link:

You can look at mcmaster.com (McMaster Carr) or at grainger.com or mscdirect.com. Just to name a few. Sorry don't know how to make links.

Somebody here on the forums had luck with some diamond abrasive drums from an ebay seller. A quick search will probably turn up with something.

Did you check on ebay? I've bought hundreds of sanding drums there for pennies compared to hardware store prices.

Thanks everyone for the info. I have been kicking around the idea of using a router with a router table with sanding drums or break down and buy a spindle oscillating sander.
Have not been able to make up my mind what I want to do.

DO NOT use a router for sanding drums. The router motor is way too fast for the drums and they will come apart and literally fly all over your shop... ask me how I know

I put the drums in my drill press and adjust the speed as needed. It may take longer, but I can run the drum up and down with the drill leaver and it works on a budget.
