With WD-40, tap magic, etc one might want to wear gloves. The MSDS sheets indicate that they can cause dermatitis, which, while not "serious" isn't probably a goal for any of us.

So pretty much "Avon Skin so Rough"? :D

I use WD-40...mainly because that's what I have on hand. No complaints so far. -Matt-

man i hate the smell of tap magic, we use it here at work and i just does not like me.

Thanks for setting up the poll, Padrig... that will either clarify the subject or confuse us all even more :D

Why is there no "none / dry" option?

I find I get best results without any lubricant. I may eat through paper a bit faster, but the paper cuts better whil it's cutting, and leaves a finer finish.

Cool tool 2 is a cutting oil and it also allows it to sand down twice as fast as any other lubricant.

Same here. I use one of those belt sander cleaning sticks on my regular sandpaper, and it gives about three times more life out of the stuff. It isn't the same grit when you use the paper a second time, instead it is a finer grit, better for polishing later.

I voted Windex but, I have yet to try most all of them. Seems WD-40 is pretty popular... Avon's SSS not so. :jerkit:

James, I am pretty sure more confusion is in our future. ;)

I did not include dry sanding cause it's a lubricant poll and air just ain't that lubricating. And as far as spit is concerned well I just don't have the Bulldog salivary glands needed to produce the amount needed.:D;)

I was a WD-40 user until tonight. I tried some windex and it was almost a religious moment.

I guess I'll have to give cool tool 2 a try, but I won't be going back to woodforty, as it's known in the shop.
