Sanding Sticks (Thanks to Nick Wheeler!)

I made a few after Nick posted his on some thread.
Just different diameter round stock welded to 1" steel. They work great.
I went a little longer for a better grip. Maybe too long, we'll see with regular use.

I guess I can't see how they are to be used with sanding? What's the round stock's purpose?

They are for detail sanding of guards and such. You put a strip of sandpaper over the round stock, fold it up and hold it and the stick between thumb and index finger.

OH, gotcha. I was thinking they were for blade finishing and I couldn't figure out how that was going to help
