I just saw a Kershaw Leek with Sandvik C27 blade steel/ Is this a new steel because I've never heard of it....

i'm guessing it Sandvik 12C27, which is widely used in knives

No its a different steel not 12c27, and it does not look that impressive,however I am sure that it will take a scary sharp edge.
