Got this image from Sandy...aka Martin Morrissey, an excellent LeatherSmith and an all around good guy too! I had edited the pic a little and added the text on there...

Here is a pic that he had from 1942, with his friend Casey, a Raccoon who Sandy claims to have ridden with on his shoulder for most of 70,000 miles, pretty good trick!
I know some guys have pet beavers, but don't know if they ride around on their motorcycle with them ...:)

So I thought I'd share this pic of Sandy's with the folks here, and to give a ThumbsHigh to Sandy, he is certainly one who offers everyone any information he has to help others learn the craft of Leather working, here's to ya Sandy!

G2,I woke up to this email as well.Sandy is super as a Master Leathersmith, teacher, and just an allaround good guy.He has never failed to answer one of my many questions about sheathmaking.Like many of my fellow knifemakers,he is such a gifted artist and I feel fortunate for our paths to cross.G2, you too I consider as a gifted artist and an allaround good guy. This is one of the things that I love about knifemaking and sheathmaking, the good people you meet. Thanks to all.Dave :)

I had to give Casey away when I left Florida to go to Oakland CA for saddlemakers school under the GI bill. I found it virtually impossible to get permits to harbor a fur bearing animal from all the states I passed through riding a motorcycle. I gave him to a couple that ran a fish camp located next to a federally licensed oyster bar. He was living in the lap of luxury when I last saw him and would probably weigh in at over 30 pounds---I think that was in 1949. He was a most loving and most mischievous animal----

Digging around and found this old thread about Sandy and wanted to let it see the light of day and for new members that may have not seen it too.
There ye be Sandy!
