Same knife, went through two times tip repair (being dropped, snapped off), edge reprofiling, 'waved' spine cut into front most notch, and it's my shaving and utilities knife.

OT: The SRM 763 is OK. I've used it a lot, and it often makes it into my edc rotation (which these days consists of the Buck Vantage Pro, Spyderco Delica 4 FFG, Spydie lightweight Manix 2, SRM 763 and Victorinox cadet) because it's light and unobtrusive. Ideal for light edc.

Don't mind the thumbless guy though. He tends to have this tendency to bash SRM or Enlan in every topic that comes up in General about these brands, without ever giving any decent argument. It's always the same old 'everything from China bl*ws, only 'merica makes them good stuffz' with this guy. I'm pretty sure some Psychologists would love this guy though.

Anyway, if you want something low cost that performs well, there are tons of options out there. Different steels, different designs, different origins. Any single one of them might be good for you, it just comes down to personal preference. Is the SRM 763 a good knife FOR YOU? Maybe, the Tenacious might be as well, maybe the Kershaw Cryo, maybe an Opinel, maybe a SAK...

My only gripe about the knife is it's size. That;s why I dubbed it my key chain knife. Other than that I don't have any other serious complaints. It's done everything that I've asked it to do as far as what I use my knives for.

I almost bought this a while ago but then I heard a few horror stories of people ordering it from china and having their card info stolen. If you're going to buy one definitely find a U.S. dealer to purchase from.

If you use paypal, you should be OK.

Bladeforums is the only place in the world where people post about how Emersons are crap and how great 10$ Chinese rip off knives are...

China...
Ripped off designs (how many people make a Sodbuster?)
Bad quality (they make good and they make bad)
Protect American economy (do you buy from WalMart?)
Slave labor (I do that, but decent point)

Anyway, I have no opinion, complicated issues, sorry I went there at all, really.

Now, about knives.... Sanrenmu has some of the best economy knives probably. 8cr13mov prolly chips easier than Aus8 but it ain't bad. They are economy knives, but they're not crap.

I didn't have to make my "judgement" of the company because they make mostly all modern folders and thus don't interest me hugely. I'm more a slipjoint guy. Now, the A148 below is a nice knife for $5 shipped and isn't a rip off of anything but a scalpel. Ugly as homemade sin but a nice little knife. Google searched and found it at a local store for $30(!). I waited the month to get it from China.

The only Sarenmu I held felt like junk. I won't support a knife company from China regardless of the value or quality which is very much a crap shoot anyway.

buy 2 !
this knife totally rules , took a little while for mine to feel broken in .
the springs were quite strong when i got it , now its buttery smooth and fast .
sharpens sweet and keeps the edge a good while .
bottle opener works good .
