Anyway, now that the drooling is over, I want to know more about the Shing and the SWC, such as: what type of steel? Edge retention? Grind? Specs? How do you get them? Thanks!

That one's my grail knife! I been hiding behind this one tree in the dolly sods area hoping to ambush anyone carrying such a knife but no luck yet .

I love every MM knife I've seen and that one is just as cool. They're always so functional looking. Gonna have to pick one up some day.

Sort of thick :thumbdn:even in the blade, but the edge is very thin.:thumbup: I've cut a lot of stuff with it thinking it's going to chip or something but hasn't happened yet. Maybe just haven't met the right species of wood

Man I was doing some carving with the Mora 2000 last night and managed to get it to flake out on me. That thing doesn't even have a trued edge. Stropped for a while and got it back pretty well though.

But yeah, I was surprised at the shings cutting ability after seeing how thick it was.
