Has anyone ever had their spyderco customized by them? They look really cool, but I would still like to hear any comments about their work. How durable are the handles?
 
Wow, no one has a spyderco customized by Santa Fe Stoneworks?
 
I don't have one from Santa Fe Stoneworks, but I have visited the shop to drool over their stuff. I'm not sure how durable their stuff is, but I would think it would last a long time. They have been customizing Camillus pocket knives for some time, and I do have one of them. I like their stuff, it's just a little out of my price range right now. I keep thinking about getting my Military done in wood!

Thanks for the reply, Easyrider. Yeah they are pretty expensive. It cost $80 to customize a mini police necklace!
 
I have a Police Model with a handle by Santa Fe Knife Works. It is mostly black stone with silver inlay and a silver spyderco logo. I would have to say that the handle is as durable as any material you can think of. However since it does have delicate silver inlay it would not take much to scratch it up under normal carry.

Thanks for the info. So you have never had any stones fall off, I assume?
 
Hi CYA. Santa Fe Stoneworks has done a number of "custom" pieces over the years. Stones/webs, dino bones, etc. The "Earthling" was done with wood & stone. To date, we've never had a problem with anything coming unglued.
