SantaGanza, who tripped at the starting bell?

Without thinking I never refreshed my e-mail in the entire 55 minutes of waiting. My online e-mail host (cox.net) timed me out. So my e-mail was far too many seconds late to win my beloved SG13 Hell Razor. :(

Come on guys fess up, who took themselves out of the race by this one oversight? :(

I made the mistake of not going "msn.com, hotmail, draft page, edit draft, send draft"

instead I just pressed send after it sat there for 30 minutes, so I got a blank white page instead of "your message has been sent". 14 seconds later and I was out of the running. You live and you learn

yup - forgot to hit the edit draft button, so had to wait and got trampled.

I had my e-mail page set up perfectly but when I closed the forum page with 10 seconds to spare it didn't close right away. I impatiently hit the close button again only to have my e-mail page close on me. Doh! I logged back in as quickly as possible but didn't get my e-mail off until 30+ seconds after the minute struck. Oh well. I'm sure there are many similar stories of panic or hesitation at the moment of truth. With each trial we become stronger, more experienced, and a greater force at the trough the next time Jerry comes around with our INFI slop!!!

"Jerry Bµsse" fooled me with his "Sticky: Ho . . Ho . . Ho . . Go . . Go . . Go . . " thread, but when I tried to send the email, it wouldn't send because it didn't like the way I pasted the three addresses in the "to" box. So I fixed the email and sent it, but figured I was out because it would have been a minute or two too late. Then, because I had other things to do, I left the computer. At a little after 9 p.m. CST, I came back to the computer and, when I realized I'd fallen for the oldest trick in the book, resent the email. But being 10 minutes late this time, there wasn't much chance I'd win that $500 shop credit.

My sent time was 9 seconds after 9:55... Don't know what the time stamp was when it arrived at Busse, but obviously not quick enough!!

It's when Busse got them, I sent mine right at 9:55:01.

Who knows, it's all good. :)

I don't know if you could call it 'tripping at the starting bell', but I did manage to trample myself instead by turning off a setting in my mail manager that I thought I had accidentally clicked on, which stuck my emails in my outbox as I fired them off instead of sending them out immediately. :o I caught on fairly quickly to this, but as we know... A minute in Ganza time might as well be an hour!! Ah well, still fun!

I hope this doesn't sound cruel, but it makes me feel a little better about losing knowing that some of the old pro HOGS made some of the same mistakes as I did.

It was still a freakin' blast!

Hi guys -

I guess the mistake I made was not believing that you could send as many emails as you wanted, i.e. a proggie that slams emails out every .001 seconds.

Lesson learned.

It was a real good time and as many have said, win or lose, it was well worth the time and I appreciate being involved.

best regards -

 I...wouldn't recommend doing that! It's one thing to send a few, but one every 1000th of a second, or even one every second only causes a lot more stress on Amy when sorting through them all. :) Could you imagine if we all started doing this??? ;) Plus, if people start doing that, trust me when I say that this would cause the rules to be altered to keep email barrages from happening.

Mine was a minor but probably fatal error. The spell check was on in my email program so it came up asking if I wanted to change SG5, only a couple of seconds to click cancel but seconds count.

After seeing this thread http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=704558 I'm glad that someone with fewer Busses than me won it. Spreading the love is what I'm all about ;)

:D:D

Oh you too Huh? :o

That's why mine was sent at 9:55:01.... :grumpy:

Oh well maybe next time. :D

I dunno, I guess I was slow on the draw (send), or was sync'd to the wrong clock, because mine showed being sent at 9:55:51 (on top of which, I picked the all-to-popular $375 which was a dumb mistake). Live and learn. And I, too, am happy some new faces won (hopefully this will be their first INFI...). Spreading the love in such things is good IMO.
