Sanu presents Uncle Bill with the Uncle Bill Especiale -- pix.

It was a notion of the kamis that they should present me with a "special" khukuri and this is the presentation. Sanu was the major player in the manufacture of this somewhat different and excellent khukuri so he was elected to make the formal presentation.

The presentation was made on my "official" welcoming day, thus the reason for all the leis and tikas. More pix on the welcome later.

The blade has the standard HI logo, small crossed khukuris, and an inscription which reads: For Bena from the men of BirGorkha.

Of course, I will be posting pix and specs of the knife itself later today so you can get a good look at it. You may want an Uncle Bill Especiale for yourself.

The entire journey was a moving experience, Steven, from the temples of Thailand to our departure day at Tribuvan.

No, blade is not blued -- poor lighting in the shop.
