Update - See post of new Modification below!! Post #37

I do not know what got into me, but after weeks of using, and looking at my SAR4, I just had to grind off the back of the handle to get rid of the "tongue". :eek:It kept talking to me! ;) I just started, and came in to get the camera, and take a few work shots. I will keep you informed as I go. I wish I would have thought of taking a before shot.

Chuddy Bear - I bet you can! Do not be upset, but I am holding the blade in that wonderful sheath you made for me. I am going slow, and careful, to not hurt the sheath! I just came in for a beer break. I will have one for you too!!

OK - I had to stop for the evening - It got dark outside, and a friend stopped over on his Harley because he smelled beer - I think anyway. I did not get to finish, but hopefully tomorrow! Here is where I am at, with some random pics of work as it progressed:

I did notice that when grinding, almost no sparks came off of the knife. Must be very little carbon I guess. I took it slow, and will round things out later. More pics will follow when the job is done!

David, please post an in hand -pic when you are ready...
I'm thinking about the same mod. I think it would improve the balance of the blade.

Part Two - A continuation and conclusion! I finished her up, and I am very pleased. Better balance for my taste, even better aesthetics. It is admiring and miller time. I even think it looks sweeter in the awesome Chuddy Bear Leather that acted as my handle during the operation. Here are some finished pics:

Let me know what you think.

I like it!

Although from looking at your dog, you should have left that lil' claw in there as a bottle opener :)

I like it, too.
