The main reason is because it does not have a choil. This allows your fingers to get right up to the blade for detail work and control as well as giving it a longer cutting length compared to typical Busse knives. It also is a great size for a woods knife. It is large enough for heavy use and can baton well while still maintaining a small enough size for detail and camp stuff. The size also doesn't bother me while carrying, I have a CGFBM and while its fun I wouldn't think to carry it on long hike. Another attribute is the exposed pommel. It is flat so you can use it to hammer items without turning the struck item to shreds like a lot of Busses with the pointy pommels.
The only drawback of this knife for me is the fat blade. This knife comes sharp but the steep grind angle prohibits some slicing ability.
I believe this is more of a niche knife like the Sus Scrofa, people either like it or they don't with little room in between.
