SAR3 SE in BlackPaper

Green linen or black g10.

I do love the way black paper looks, but I don't think it is quite as rugged from an impact or stress point (feel free to correct me if I am wrong).

I would love to own a Black paper, but I am not a huge fan of when they start looking greenish after time and use.

Never seen or heard that before... post pics if you have an aged BP blade that turned green.

Black paper is weak , is for girls, and not intended for SAR work:p..

we all all know the paper dosen't hold up to any abuse, and should be kept from them unbathed "heathen's" that use. user's are loser's.:( it work's if you work it, keep coming back.

I've heard the same! Not sure from where or whom or if true! If Blk Paper is less durable than G10 I'm sure it's minimal and on a smaller knife a non-issue.

+1 for BP or BLK G10!

Here's what he was referring too. Its slight on this one but have seen others with very green. Its not the blade that turns a little green, but the cuts in the BP itself that will. Looks a little like tarnished copper. It goes away with a little mineral oil:cool:

Looks like the post for an Orange SAR3 worked. So lets post here if you would like to see a SAR3 in BlackPaper or Black G-10.:D:thumbup::cool:

Maybe Scott will post a pic of the SAR3 SE BP here to get us pumped up ;-)

worked? More like in the works! Do a search and you'll see this has been the standard protocol for the SAR series of knives. That's why I was telling all the noobs to calm down.

Sweet blades:thumbup: That does'nt look bad to me... looks aged. Actually like it:D That prototype looks cool:cool: Wanna trade ;-)

I feel pretty confident in saying, I think we can count on a black g-10 version. There has been one of the SAR4 and SAR8. Black paper only happened on the SAR8, so it's hard to say if it will happen on this one. I am optimistic though.:D:thumbup:

I think it'll happen Oeser, just relax and keep your cc ready to go into action.;)

I only have one BP. I have not used it. I have handled it a lot though. I don't think they turn green from use. I think they turn green from no use. I left mine by a window in the sun and it dried out quickly and turned greenish. I handled it for a few and the oils in my hands turned it black again. It hasn't gone green since.

Very limited experience I know ;-p

I have a little more experience with black paper and what you have said is correct.

I have also noticed that some black paper stays blacker than other. The SAR8 SE is some of the blackest I've seen. That is to say it stays blacker without oil than any of my others, and I have a few. Doesn't mean I don't want more though.:cool:
