Anyone ever look at these two next to each other? It's just sick, I really love the nuclear meltdown on the satin edges and the edges on both of these knives are just plain sick. They have a lot of similarities, so I took some picts and thought I'd just show them around :)
O, and has anyone else noticed it really hard to take good picts of satin blades on a normal camera? I can't get the angle or the lighting right for the satin to show up nice...

gorgeous pics! I'd love to replicate the same thing, only with a sar-8 that matches my NMSFNO....

Gee, I wonder what color my NMSFNO is......

Man, I keep staring at these pics - I had no idea just how much more usable blade length the Sar-8 had. And folks say it balances lighter in the hand, too. How do the total weights compare?

Because the NMSFNO LE is a bit thicker, it is a bit heavier, but the balance is great on both of them, almost the same. O and the pict doesn't do the NMSFNO LE any justice, it's just plain sick!

here are some more picts, now if only the NMSFNO LE was easier to get :) then I'd have a couple...

Take your satin knife pics outside in the shade with the edge towards the sun. Dusk and dawn are the best times to do it. The very best time is when it is overcast out!

Nuke On!!!

Jerry :D

LOL, Thanks for the advise. I'll try that next time:)

I did compare the two and I am with you, Dan. I love the Nuclear Meltdown treatment.

Here are a few pics I took indoors, so still not up to par, but they're OK

And here is one that illustrates that sick edge a little better

stupid, but this is what came into my mind:

SAR8 is the cougar, NMSFNO LE is the tiger...:o

sick blades, nice pics.

yea, wow adding that NMFBM LE really put that over the top, I don't have one of those anymore... That's a real beauty too...

I don't agree that NMSFNO is as well balanced as SAR8. Not even close! SAR 8 is way better.

I do like the feel of my NMSFNO but I also believe the SAR8 to be the better choice for a working knife...it is a close thing though....for me the long slimer blades like the Basic 9 seem to have the best performance to weight and balance....plus I like the gimping on the SAR8 for ferro rod strikes and I like the shape of the grip for a rear-ward chopping hold...probably makes an 8 inch blade the equivalent to a 10 inch blade...and the rearward grip is more secure IMO than that on the NMSFNO type handle...but each can be used well though...like I said it is a very close thing.

Do you have both and used them both? I haven't but I just felt the swinging them cutting the air. I did say the following:

"Because the NMSFNO LE is a bit thicker, it is a bit heavier, but the balance is great on both of them, almost the same. O and the pict doesn't do the NMSFNO LE any justice, it's just plain sick!"

I didn't say it was better, I said they are both very well balanced but if you look really close you will notice that they are still new never used. I don't think I can say one is better balanced then the other unless I actually used both of them, and I'm not going to so I don't know what to to tell you. As for the NMSFNO, well, if you do a search lots of people love this knife and say it is very well balanced overall as a Busse knife.

Yeah, the NMSFNO became one of my absolute favorites after I put a decent working edge on it. I've beaten that knife quite a lot. I'm hoping if I keep repeating my Bama Clay request, eventually I'll get a SAR8 to match that NMSFNO.

A set of three 8-inch Bama Clay Busse's would be pretty sweet.
