SARDUCCI returns.............

Looks great Tim. I like how you gave it some palm swell (belly) on that straight handle. Made a great looking knife even better looking.

YOU ARE KILLING ME!!! It's Hurting man, that, can you detail some info on how you did the mod? , I'm buying a grinder tomorrow........

I think it was very good foresight to remod your SAR4 into a vision of your Badger. Very classy work on an already nice knife.

Hey you are getting really good at this now!

It makes me want to send back my knives you worked on last year for the new refinements.

I finally found some time to finish up SARDUCCI. I like how it turned out, the handle came out very comfortable (it is black linen Micarta). I gave the new butt the nuclear meltdown (ballbearing) rounded treatment, so it flows all around. Part of the thumb serrations are now covered on the side, but they still function on the top without bothering your thumb. The balance of the knife moved about .400" towards the tip, so it is not as handle heavy as it was. I got a nice Leatherman sheath from the BCS for it. I will try to bring this knife and a few others to Blade for people to handle.

Great mod, Tim...though I'm not really feeling the butt too much (pun intended). Any particular reason why you went with that shape?

+1

Also, I am dying to know how you got the "Ball-bearing" radius so well. Did you do that by hand?

I prefer your mods with the dropped point and the contouring at the belly of the handle. I would probably have rounded off some of the "points" of the scales a bit. And other than not personally big on the pommel shape, AWESOME work!!!

I wish the SAR didn't come with the non-functioning / oversized choil. :( - I am not sure I could swing the price right now anyway, but that choil made it easier for me to skip.

Seeing your mods makes me twitchy though. ;)

To try and answer the butt/pommel end shape, I originally wanted to take a little weight off the end and eliminate the hole, so I was going with the older birds beak look. I was going to add the two BB holes, but decided not to and just keep it the way it is. If I end up not liking it, I can grind it down to give it a large radius like it originally had. The "Ball-bearing" radius was done by hand on the KMG grinder along with a few different attachments and time, the same way I re-radiused the top spine after I added the drop point.

Please bring that bad boy to Blade so I can see how it feels in the hand.

Great job Tim, it really looks good, and I like the butt myself.
