Conan you saved me too. Stwm, I know I probably shouldn't say this but...given 2 Sarge knives in 2 days, I'd wager Auntie has at least one more if you ask.. :)

Red Eagle Trapping, I know you were asking about a KLVUK, and this Villager Utility Knife looks awesome. In fact, I have emailed about it. However, if you would like it, it's all yours (assuming I'm first). I have a couple KLVUKs and you would probably use it a lot more often than I.

Let me know if you want it whenever you see this, I'll let everyone know if I was first bid when I wake up in the AM, and we can go from there.

Go for it. I emailed her and she is working on setting me up some Now. Otherwise id say sure. She said she has a few so she is helping me now between adding a dhankuta sirupati or her katunje. I appreciate the offer
 
Ok sounds good! I still haven't heard back so my fingers are crossed.

Between those blades is a tough choice. Dhankuta is gorgeous, Siru is fast and cool, and of course you can't go wrong with Yangdu's own model. I don't know if it will sway your opinion, but the Katunje has a very small handle. I have small hands and it's most comfortable for me to keep my pinky finger overhanging on the end.

Yeah you can see why im torn i like the idea of the small katunje but the workability of the sirupate makes sense i really like dhankuta but have not read much from anyone on its overall usability compared to others. I asked yangdu for prices on the ones she mentioned i am just awaiting her reply.
 
Oh make no mistake, there is no sacrifice in usability as the beauty goes up. Might be harder to use a gorgeous think like a dhankuta, but in my opinion it's probably a more useful blade than an equally sized siru. My 12" Siru is one of my few that's given me a good bite. I don't use it much other than in the kitchen on occasion. The Dhankatu has more belly, which I personally prefer. The Katunje is about 12" so if you want something bigger or smaller, look for something else :b great knife though, as Bookie mentioned elsewhere
 
Thats what i like about the dhankuta the belly looks nice yangdu said she can make it in a less ornate scabbard i relly want a cross between a sirupate 15 and a dhankuta. Hmm the quest is real. I am waiting for a response on price on the villager and katunje and siru. Well see what happens. Its only money.
 
Man those Sarge's look just perfect. Definitely going to be my next buy when I have two pennies to together.

Yeah it is a great design and Kumar is on fire! I just keep ending up not getting his stuff as fate would have it.
 
Got the VUK in the other day and my what a fine piece it is! Gorgeous chunk of wood on there. I sanded down the handle, now to 1500 grit, removed the forge scale with vinegar, and made a kydex sheath in OD green, all in the same day I got it. Going up to the cabin this weekend for testing, but here's a couple pics

Crappy pic of the handle after some oil. Those bands going up the handle are wicked vivid in the light and have a beautiful shimmer to them. This is gonna be a fine knife.
