Sarge Knives?

They have a number of barely disguised spyderco copies - check the Kiwi-like SK-425 for example, and hence I wouldn't consider them anymore.

Well the one my Dad got was sharper out of the box then my Kershaw was and the blade steel is 440C not exactly M-Tech steel my friend. Read up on it before you judge and I asked for past expeirances not for you guys to be stuck up and smug about cheap knives.

If those are chinese knives then they are most definitely not 440C. At best you might see rough rider, or Chinese Schrade type stainless, not real 440C, but you get what you pay for.

BTW, It's not "stuck up" just to talk truthfully about something. Doesn't mean the knife won't work for you though.

LOL:D!! You need to do some reading, "friend!"

You gotta be freaking kidding!:barf:

Like I said, :barf:

It's indeed highly unlikely that it's 440C. It could be though, as some chinese-made Boker Plus knives come in 440C - a company I'd trust about the descriptions they put on steel.
But at that price it's unlikely.

When it comes to affordable chinese slipjoint knives, I do like my Rough Riders, they offer a good quality/price.

Kim Breed did a test/reviev of a Sarge knife in Blade a few issues ago.
He liked it well enough that I was going to get one untill I checked
out the catalog. I will not support any company that sells knock-offs.

Then just don't buy the knock-off?

It's not that easy, Ben! If a company is willing to quite obviously rip off another manufacturer's design/s, it's a pretty good bet that the company's ethics are crap, and as such, buying any product (even a non-rip off) is a risky proposition. Do you trust thieves? I sure don't! Not many people here are willing to, in any way, shape, or form, support a crappy company with crappy ethics!;)

Heck, you can't really go wrong for the price. Even if you only get limited use out of the thing before it breaks (and it may last forever, depending on how it is made and what it is used for), what the heck, it is just the price of a movie or two, or a pizza and a 6-pack.

Go for it.

BenLankford,
Well, my "friend", I didn't know I was being "stuck up or smug", just thought I was answering your post. Sounds like you don't like it if people don't agree with you.

No problem with inexpensive knives, or ones from China or Taiwan, I own plenty.
I also have seen plenty of knock-offs and see no reason for them, they are as reliable as the shady person who sells them.

If you like them, you can buy them for cheaper without the "Sarge" logo, or you can better spend your money on quality knives.

This situation is like this:
A kid asking his mom for a cup of water, but once he got a cup of water he refuses because it's not in a cup that he was wanted.
