Sarge7's Are Here, Check Info And Stay Tuned!

This may already have been addressed, but does the SARGE 7 have NM treatment??? Hard for me to tell from the pics...

y...i'm impressed and taking one out to the river tomorrow to see if i can tie my boat up with it, cut willows, and cook some dogs. be back tomorrow with a good test of this blade.

Any updates on your test with it Skunk? How does it feel compared to the other SARs or even other similarly sized Bussekin? Do you still think it out chops the SAR8 after your day of testing?

I'm very tempted to pull the trigger since I happen to have the funds right now...a mini-review and some marketing is just what I need to be pushed over the edge tonight.

It is very light. It is lighter than the SARSquatch and the SAR 6 which are both shorter than it. It is only slightly heavier than the SAR 4. So it feels strange, in a good way, when you are used to the feel of Busse knives. For its weight it chops surprisingly well. My first impression is that it chops better than the SARSquatch but not as well as the SAR 8.

But that is first impression only based on limited chopping so far. I want to do more comparison with the SARSquatch to be absolutely convinced. At the time my impression was that it did do better but because I did not use them directly one after the other, I used the SAR 8 inbetween, I want to confirm it again and with longer duration chopping.

But I am certain that it will not better the SAR 8, the difference to me was more obvious. Either way, I think it will be a great, lightweight all rounder that will not drag your pants down.

But my impressions are just that, purely subjective, I did not count strokes, measure anything, including time and people have different techniques, perceptions and preferences so I look forward to reading Skunk's and others' impressions.

So are these already sold-out?

The current Limited Edition version is sold out but Skunk is running a competition in another thread to guess the configuration of the next model, so more are coming with different options of handle scales (he mentioned that) and maybe blade coatings (he did not specifically mention that).
