I got my M-43 sheath back from Terry at Sarki Shop last week after he covered the sheath in green cloth and installed an Oregon Sasquatch Special frog. The frog has a pouch for a firestarter or tinder, as well as a strap to keep the big blade in the sheath. He also replaced the water-buffalo hide that came with the M-43, using a soft and thick leather. I got the cloth cover because I found water-buffalo hide to be tough, but it scratches easily. The cover is held on by the frog pressing it against the body of the sheath, but it looks like it will stay put as long as I don't remove the frog all the time...

Without further ado, the pics!!

Whatcha' think??

I was thinking his 1849 rig would be the way to go, but I went with the OSS instead.

Leatherface will be getting my M-43 in a little while for a Kydex quickdraw sheath...

Nice work by Sarki shop, thank you for the pictures

IronHandJohn,
Glad you like it. Did you need a left hand rig? I noticed the frog is on backwards.
God Bless.
Terry

Yes, I'm left-handed, but I've been reversing things my entire life, so having a flipped-frog isn't a big deal. When I turn the frog around the right way, I notice that the kukhuri sticks out further due to the karda and chakmak being closer to the belt. I like the way the big blade lays flatter against my leg this way. The tinder pouch looks like it may be easier to snag on something, though...

I'll think about it for a bit..

John
