SARSquatch - Overlooked and Underrated

Don't post too much anymore, but came back from a 3 day trip last week upstate (AZ not NY :D) and brought along my lovely SARSquatch.

What a phenomenal do-all blade and my favorite Busse out of the 30+ I've had the pleasure of owning. Excellent ergonomic handle, "practical" skinny thickness, roubust tip, big enough to chop yet small enough for detail work & a choil that is big enough to be used with gloves. It also happens to be the sharpest factory edge Busse has ever put on a blade that I own - I guess it has more to do with just having the most even edge grinds, which I know is a struggle for the team ;):D

After using mine exclusively over the trip, I think it might take the "only keep one" place over my NMSFNO.

Thats all :)

How much do you love yours?

I agree. It actually replaced my NMSFNO as well. I love it the most of all my blades. I've been considering shaving the butt of it to be flush with the micarta handles. Would that be dumb?

I have one and absolutely love it. a killer blade for sure, mine will not be going anywhere anytime soon. it goes out in the woods with me quite often :), I still want me a sfnole though too.

It is my mid sized blade as well.

Though, I find I don't seem to grab the mid sized as much. I have big and small combo's that work well.

I took a two day canoe trip last year (planning the same trip this year as well). Only took the SarQ and the BAD.

First blade I ever tested/chopped with when I started buying these irresistible pieces of metal. Chopped a pesky 3" mesquite sapling right in two. One swipe. Great balance. I'd even use it in the kitchen.

Well... it cant get much uglier as it is :)

It would give it a more blade-heavy feeling, which isnt necessarily a bad thing...

If you ever plan on hammering on the butt I'd leave it as is - I wouldn't want to hammer right up against the micarta. If not, GO FOR IT!

I've toyed with the idea of sharpening the first 3/4 inch of the faux clip - I know Jaxx has a sweet satin SARQ with the entire clip done (stag or buffalo handle I think?), but I'm sure it would eat up batons. Sure is purdy though.

Yeah, the Sarsquatch is like a poor mans Fusion steel heart.. a great blade, nice and light, weight feels great in the hand, and is a decent chopper.. I didn't know that you could get a Gen 4 glock in coyote.. has that been refinished?
Here are my two babies, and yes, your right... they aren't going anywhere :)

The Comp finish got a little surface rust due to the decarb, but it is easily cleaned off.

It is one of those that is a great all-arounder. The only thing I dont like is the swedge... sure beats up the baton. ;)

Great looking pair you got there!!!

Lipseys did a special run of them in April - they are 100% Dark Earth polymer like the older OD ones. Got lucky and picked up a 17 and 19 to keep my 26 and 30 company. I might love Glocks as much as I love Busses :)

Pretty sure they are doing another batch in the Fall - should be large enough order to go around for everyone who wants one.

The 'Squatch is the ultimate all-rounder. And, contrary to most opinions..., I think she is BEAUTIFUL!!! Glock FDE isn't bad either.:)
