Hey fellas, wondering if any of you have encountered anything strange, that you might have thought to be a Sasquatch/Bigfoot? Tell us about it, and where it happened!

Yes. Here is my Bigfoot encounter.

Hahahaha, woods walker, that animal planet show cracks me up. That vid pretty much summed every episode of that show up!!

I personally don't believe in it, but I used to date a girl, up in Northern California, that swore up and down that she saw Bigfoot for a brief moment, while hiking the Lost Coast Trail. She is/was a level headed person, not prone to flights of fancy, or hysterics. So she wasn't just making it up. To this day, I still wonder what she saw...

Never seen a bigfoot or any strange creature.

I took the advanced tracking class at the Tom Brown School. Tom Brown briefly mentioned what Bigfoot/Yeti creatures are. As he states "when the forest energy vibrates at the right frequency and come together at just the right time even the common man can see it. We call them Bigfoot, Yeti, Sasquatch." He also eluded to it being a protective spirit of the forest.

I was taken back by his statement. Of course he does not take questions and thus I could not ask him to elaborate. Forget about approaching him in private conversation. I asked the other students to confirm what he stated during the break. None would comment. It was one of those WTF moments for me.

If anyone went to the Tom Brown Classes and understood this lecture maybe then can elaborate more.

While I have not seen Bigfoot myself I did much research a couple years ago after a couple of off duty Maryland State cops saw Bigfoot walk across a wooded construction site both officers were moonlighting as site security on. Both officers were so shocked by the encounter they both retired as officers the next day and immedietly seeked out psychiatric help. As it turns out the highest number of Bigfoot sightings are in Maryland NOT the Pacific Northwest.

I never took his class but what he sounds like he's saying is that everything is energy, and everything is vibrating. If your are vibrating on the same frequency, it's visible.

No offense but it doesn't matter. The brain can play tricks on anyone, level headed or not. Anyone watch Penn and Teller's BS? They had an episode on UFOs and had a guy on that studies the brain. Not sure what his exact specialty was but he did scans of people while they thought of their UFO encounters and he noticed that when thinking about this, and things like conspiracy theories, that the pleasure centers of the brain lit up. People literally get addicted to thinking about these things because when they do, their body pumps out feel good drugs. Just watch a person talk about a conspiracy theory. They generally have a grin from ear to ear because they're getting a natural high from telling the story.

Maybe he's a proponent of string theory? :D

Tom Brown is a nut job!

Here in NM big foot rates third after UFOs/Aliens and the chupacabra. So really no big deal here.

No offense taken. I hear what you're saying, but she just wasn't that type of person. Quite boring, actually. And she was rather unnerved when recounting the tale. I think whatever she saw freaked her out, and she got no pleasure from the retelling. But, since she was hiking in the Emerald Triangle, I suppose certain of her senses might have been, shall we say, altered?

Interesting. My oldest son and I love to watch bigfoot shows, including Finding Bigfoot. I'm very skeptical, but I get a kick out of the shows and keep threatening my wife saying I'll go into Squatching when I retire:D I think something else which adds to the desire to believe in these things is the idea that there is still mystery in the world. That the world is still bigger than us. I read an interesting book about bigfoot, which I found at the library, called Bigfoot: The Life and Times of a Legend . Turned out to be more about debunking the famous squatchers and digging into why we want to believe in bigfoot. It's a pretty neat book. Take care.

I don't personally believe in Bigfoot but last summer during bow-season for elk the sun went down and forced me to spend a night out there alone in WA, between the howls of the coyotes and hooting of the owls I can see how someone might be fooled into seeing something, especially considering it's bear country.
