Sasquatch encounters?

One time I was eating jack links in the woods and a tall hairy dude growled at me and stole my beef snacks!

Now that I think about it, I remember seeing some evidence that Sasquatches not only exist, but are experiencing some sort of famine (possibly due to climate change?). I saw brief footage of a specimen that seemed to have been driven by hunger to reveal itself and steal items of questionable edibility, such as Jack Links cow product.

May all you non believers encounter a squatch tonight on Friday the 13th :D

Meh.. we all know the earth is flat

wait , that was updated .. till it was officially accepted tho , there was much mockery for thinking that the world could be anything but flat ..

point is , we are learning all the time . There is much we dont know .

on the subject of unknown , I know a guy who actively hunts bigfoot , with cameras, audio recording devices , motion sensor video cams etc . he is totally convinced that there is a bigfoot creature out there . The specimen samples that he has collected and had analysed so far , are all "unknown" . Unknown hair , unknown poop , unknown audio .

What is known tho , is generally the big guy wants nothing to do with humans . I have no problem with that ,native legend and myth tell of generations long war with the big hairy giants , settlers and people working the land in more remote areas have often enough reported encounters , sightings etc .

Native legend and myth tho .. that was mocked for many years for talking of giant meat eating kangaroos an giant goannas .. untill fossils of exactly that were discovered ... now its only mocked because the natives couldnt have known about them since there is no proof they ever interacted .

I didnt believe in the big cats till I saw one choking the life out of a bullock . I didnt believe in min mins till I followed a couple . the i didnt believe list goes on .. to point that now , Im pretty open minded .

Enough that I do believe I have seen a bigfoot , When I stopped the vehicle and went back to make sure of what Id seen , it want there to be seen anymore , one of the others in my car said they were just glad they werent the only one who saw it .

Is there really a bigfoot out there ? Im going to follow the official line here

I have always been intrigued by the unexplained. That which is now proved was once only imagined.

My own philosophy is similar to this. I won't say they definitely exist, but I also wouldn't say that they don't (or can't). I get the entertainment aspect, but there's a tone of mockery here towards those who believe, even in the possibility of it existing. And just because someone has lived in "bigfoot country" all their lives and hasn't seen one, only proves they've never seen one.

And BTW, who can say that Tom Brown is a nut? He obviously has skills and knowledge in his field. Probably more than most of his detractors. Maybe...maybe he knows a little something? It's interesting that he apparently only gave the bigfoot thing a brief mention.

Remember that prehistoric fish, the coelacanth, that scientists were convinced were long extinct? Well, they discovered in 1938 that they still exist.

Im definitely a nonbeliever. There is another thread on this forum about the same subject and a couple of people got mad at me for commenting. I wasnt making fun of them, just rubbed them the wrong way. So respect others opinion.

A few years back I thought I saw a cougar. This is not cougar country although there have been a few confirmed sightings in the state. I have never told anyone because I know most people would not believe me.

I don't believe they are real, but I wish they were. :)

I enjoy watching the show and get a kick over the "facts" they present. It always brings a smile to my face when they get all excited about something that happens on the show. You have to give them some credit for hang'n out in the woods at all kinds of silly hours at night and early morning. They have a fun job, but I bet it is a bunch of work to produce that show.

OP here- I'm not really a believer or a non believer either... I think it could be possible, but doubtful. I just enjoy hearing stories about it. If you are a non believer, that's fine, just don't be too harsh with those who believe.

Anyone ever hear of the Mapinguary? Brazil has their own bigfoot kind of legend: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mapinguari
I saw a documentary on the Discovery Channel, and the description that most locals gave made it sound like a giant ground sloth (currently believed to be extinct). The thing is though, legends and local beliefs can have profound effects on people. It's possible that legends of the Mapinguary descended from actual encounters with giant sloths thousands of years ago, but when people know the stories, are scared, it's dark, and they don't get a good look at what they saw, it's easy to believe they actually saw a bigfoot or Mapinguary when they didn't.

You ever see those jumbled phrases (usually memes or a power point slide) that make perfect sense until you read the description, and realize the letters are completely jumbled? There are also interesting studies that show people will mishear what someone says when audio is dubbed over a video of someone saying something completely different--the people actually 'read' the actor's lips without realizing it, and they genuinely think they heard what the actor was saying and not what the actual audio played. The brain is quite powerful at making people see what it expects to see.

Skeptical, but also know of a story told before the bigfoot craze of A "gorilla" looking in the window of an older family member when she was 10. My uncle and grandfather tracked what ever it was over a mile before snow covered the tracks.
They were armed with a 16 ga single shot and 2 pumpkinballs. I also know it is over 6 foot to the bottom of that window. This was told to me in the early 70's and happened in 51-52 . could it have been a bear? Maybe but my family relied on wild game to supliment the food at that time and I would think they would know bear tracks

I'm sure Tom Brown has heard it all, I'm sure he really could care less what others say or think about him. If he enjoys what he's doing and not hurting anyone, I would say he's doing much better than most people I know.

Squatches are real. I've seen them. The thing is... they aren't what you think they are.

They're just large unshaven "women of the woods."

It's a hippy thing.

If the brain is so powerful at making people see what they are expecting to see. I should be seeing stacks of money everywhere, but how come I'm not and I sure a lot of other people want to see lots of money. And I haven't heard of any such sighting yet:eek:

Or maybe when people think the opposite it's just easier to say , meh the mind is powerful ....................

What you expect to see and what you want to see are two very different things.

I thought about it and I answer my own question, most of the time when we are thinking about money we are thinking of the lack there of.
