Satellite Radio Users, is it worth it?

I got a Honda Ridgeline almost 2 months ago that came with 3 months of free XM. It's pretty much the only thing I've listen to since I got it. I even listen to it at work over the internet where I can't get radio. With my free time coming to a close I decided I just had to have it. I renewed it yesterday. It's well worth it.

You can go to the XM website and get a 3 day trial for free.

I have Xm right now. THrough the vagaries of chance I received it for free, I do not think I would pay for it though. The signal is cd quality, when it is clear, otherwhise it is worse than FM and does not work in a lot of places I go. That may be because of the terrain features and large trees in my state (WA). But it works great in my house and most importantly where I work out, THe Valley Athletic Club Tumwater, Wa (plug because it is so awesome). I mostly listen to the bluegrass station, and they have some classic country which you would never hear on FM. The comedy is extremely funny and a good way to motivate staying on the Stairmaster for the whole 30min! Though I do get some odd looks, 300# guy, streaming sweat, pumping away at the highest level and laughing so hysterically I have fallen off the goddamned machine before!
I have become a Stern junky since he came to this market. When he goes to Sirius I will purchase that service, just to listen to Stern.

I highly recommend XM. I cover a several county area during my work day and the XM is the best thing that ever happened to my old car. If you want to love your car again just install satellite radio and POOF!

I used to try to keep AM or FM tuned in while travelling around and to sum it up broadcast stinks. Get it and don't look back.

If I get satellite radio, it will HAVE to be Sirius for Howard Stern, I'm aminly trying to decide if there is enough good content beyond H.S. to get it?

I travel on my job. I'm on the highway for many hours at a time and in remote areas, where radio is a scarce. I wouldn't be without XM radio. I can listen to 1 channel everywhere I go.
What's more, is that the content goes far beyond CD Quality Music. I love the news feeds from FOX, CNBC and others - enen CNN. Sports broadcasts are great, sometimes. Comedy is a nice change when you need something besides music, or just Talk Radio. They even have a Story-Telling channel.
I got XM for my car when I'm home, too. The quality of the sound, plus commercial free music is hard to beat.
Hell yeah, its worth it - for me, anyway. If you're satisfied with local FM, then it may not be for you.
