Just received from Garth. New Basic 11, originally a coated blade with standard V edge, that I sent back for a factory satin finish. Edge was slightly convexed by the shop as you can see in last pic below. Knife has never been used, just refinished and a new logo applied.

$500 shipped/insured in conus, postal money order only—not set up for Paypal.

Next photo below makes tip grind look uneven, but if you look at the last photo below you can see that was just the lighting--tip is perfect:

After rejecting a lowball offer via PM, I was asked my thinking on the price at $500 shipped--fair question. Here’s what I’m looking at, cost-wise:

New Basic 11 value on the open market -- about $325 shipped.

Ship insured to Garth: $15
Garth charges to re-finish: about $100
Busse return shipping to me: $15
I sell to someone else and ship insured: $20 now, with increased insured value

Total out of pocket: $475

Plus four trips to the post office—1) to pick up new knife; 2) send to Garth; 3) pick up from Garth; 4) ship to new buyer

Plus all the hassle of buying a knife, arranging with the shop to do the work, sending it in, checking on work progress, waiting for knife to be returned—the process takes several months.

I price knives for sale based on my expectation of what I’d pay for the same knife if I set out to buy one. If I didn’t have one of these, and wanted one, I could either fool around for several months and put forward a lot of uncompensated time, effort, and hassle, and save about $25—maybe even a few dollars more. Or I could buy this one for $500 and have it in my hands in less than a week. If it was me, I’d gladly pay the $500 for this incredible knife—and by the way, if this one wasn’t an extra, I’d never, ever sell it. It is worth the money.

Just so you know. :)

Damn, that's a beauty.
But that's a lot of money, you really shouldn't be spending that kind of money now.
But it's a big, shiny, sharp, perfect piece of metal (Infi at that).
No you shouldn't,
Yes you should.
No you shouldn't.
Yes you should.
Help. Help. Please help.

OK, I'll take it. (For real.)

If you'll sell to someone who talks to himself.

PM on it's way shortly. Mike

Received my new Satin Basic 11 from Will today (see above pictures). It is a beauty and in perfect condition - and it came complete with the Busse S.S.S.S. of paper (to which I added a few more cuts). I hope my neighbors weren't frightened if they caught a glimpse of the wild man swinging a "big knife" around in our house today (the kids and wife weren't home and I made sure the dogs were at a safe distance). It fits my hand well and feels surprisingly light for such substantial piece of Infi (balance maybe?). This is my largest piece of Infi yet and it's going to be fun. The tall weeds and unruly shrubs around our house had better be gone by morning if they know what's good for them.

Also, thanks to Will for such a great transaction. I was opening my package the same day he received my money order - great communication, easy to work with - it was a pleasure. Thanks again Will. Mike
