I'm sure this topics been brought up before but, here it goes anyway...
What is your preferred method of getting a satin finish by hand?

I use a rope wheel with black compound it works great.
I take all of my blades to a mirror finsh then look to see if I think they should be satin finshed. The only ones that get satin are the ones with micro scratches or custermer request.

I ask this same question months ago and with the kindness of all that responded to me I came up with this and it works great . I took a 14" x 2" piece of corian ( because I had some , any hard flat surface should work ) . I glued on a 2" x 10 " strip of leather . I can now clamp this to my work bench and place a full sheet of wet/dry sand paper across it and move the paper as the 1st 2" section wears out . It has worked so well that I can actually go forward and back with the blade without getting the fish hook effect . Of course for the final passes I go in one direction only.

I use a 1X1 strip of leather with my sandpaper and start hand rubbing with 120,180,220,320,400,600,800, or more. That's all ---------:)
