Well in that case… it seems like whenever I pop back into this thread there’s a faint voice in the background saying “moley, moley, moley…. moley” over and over again so guess I better answer it. Shout out to mercmaster , this was one of my first Busses’ and still grateful it came my way

BOSS Jack Proto, I always liked the nuclear meltdown ball bearing rounding of the spine on these…

You and me both, that NM treatment gives it a great look as well as an amazing feel. It’s not a flashy knife, but with the fullers, the DC finish, and the bigger choil this one has that classic look that will never go out of style. I know not everyone digs the large choil and the fullers, but I guess there’s no accounting for poor taste.

Might just be the lighting, but that first one looks like it spent a little time with Ban. Sure do wish he was still around, amazing talent and a great guy as well.

Indeed it did! Still miss that one! I'm on the lookout for another like it, even if it doesn't have the Ban treatment (wanna sell yours? ) and then I'll convex it myself.

The one in my other link with the clip point bowie style blade and maroon handles, that one had the Ban treatment as well. Got that one from the guy who started this thread. Love that thing! Great guy, great knife.

Not a huge fan of the customs or the satins but always had a thing for the protos, they just have such a clean, classic look. I was digging them when they first came out and couldn't snage one, took me about 10 years before I scored this one. I know you know, but they don't pop up very often and especially not the protos. Had it for about four years now, and it's pretty much on the "don't sell" list. I did see the pics of your other one, but I'll go back and take a better look.

If by chance I ever do move this one I'll try to remember to keep you in mind.

Wanted a Satin Jack for so long, Straight Handle or BOSS. Never thought I'd get a Tac of any sort, just wasn't for me, not interested.

*After our discussion on canvas vs linen micarta, yer prolly going to want to kill me in a minute but... You probably haven't seen one in Green linen either & that is what's on this TB. There were 2 @ the Great Easton Travelling Trough Show II, & after buying the 2nd from it's original buyer who offered it up, I have them both. I do have a TB variant with canvas Tigerhide though
