If m390 is a good desirable steel
Then acquiring one with horizonal surface scratches is a mystery.
They show when a light is just right and don't appear as a damaged blade
MOre like a result from wiping with an improper cloth, or grit that got dragged.

I would like to use a two step steel polish red and blue, but don't know
Which one to start with or if the verticle polish satin lines will also be hurt.

I just don't get how a fine surface scratch can so easily be left on m390 a "Super Steel"

all steels ... make that all metals get scratches (or worse) from use.
The scratch may be from the machining of the blade when it was made. Personally, if it cannot be seen unless. "the light is just right" I would not worry about it. You'll add more scratches to the blade anyway, over the years you use it.

Yep it's very finely scratched but two parallel longer than 1.25 inches.
So I want to attack them delicately with some polishing paste, two stage.

I would use micro fiber cloth and rub in some recommended way?
I don't know if I run the risk of leaving the satin lines worse off?
Even if it ends up doing nothing I can say I tried.

Is this Glanol metal polish (purple box)
Then Glanol ultra soft ( blue box) safe for the zt satin finish m390?
Do I need to worry about circular rubbing or should I be focused on verticle "with the grind line" rubbing?

Try ceramic blade. Its cost less than $20 and you will have a hard time to scratched it...
