Saturday Hike

I decided to get out of the house on Saturday and do a little hiking and relaxing in the outdoors. It was a great time just to be alone and hear all the birds singing and see all the wildlife. Here are a few pictures from my day.

Of course I brought along my Becker Patrol pack to she how she handled and I have to say after getting used to it for the first 10 or 15 mins, It was super comfortable.
I can guarantee that my Maxpedition Condor II will never make the hike with me again as long as I have this BPP!

And yes, I usually go barefoot........

The creek was filled with wild life and right off the Bat I saw some turtles on a log. This little guy stay on so I could take his pic.

This Guy was watching me from above so I decided to sit and watch him for a while.

He finally got bored of me and decided to move to a new tree. I was lucky enough to catch him in mid flight! Such a beautiful creature!

Lots of little fish in this spot.

She was watching me as I followed the Creek.

This was a huge Fly.

She decide to go on ahead of me.

There were lots of squirrels in the forest that day............ but this poor little guy didn't make it for some reason.

Many iridescent fly on him. I have never seen more that one of these kind of flies at a time....... there must have been a dozen or so.

This was a massive tree.

From the other side, it looked like it had been burnt out?

I had a great time that day and took lot's of pictures of my 16's and a few of my new pack. I will be uploading them to the proper threads when I get a chance.

What a cool place to explore. Barefoot nonetheless! Makes me want to get outdoors and raise my hammock. That shot of all the 16s is impressive. Lemons...ya right.

Nice trip report; looks like a beautiful place to lose yourself for a couple of hours. Very woodsy. Seems like you gave your new pack a nice workout hauling your dozen or so knives lol.

Can I ask how long you've hiked barefoot in the woods? Is it like a Lundin thing? I've thought once or twice about taking off my shoes in the forest but I must admit my baby feet wouldn't be able to take it. I usually walk around camp barefoot when I'm backpacking, but that's about as far as I go. Interesting tho. Thanks for sharing!

How many 16's does it take to set up a campsite?

Great location and awesome photos. I've always loved turtles and owls, but never seen 'em in the same day (except at the occasional wildlife center or zoo.) You reminded me that I need to get out more.

Beautiful spot Dex, that's my favorite kind of terrain. With all the duckweed and cypress trees it looks just like behind my house. Thanks for sharing.

Really nice pictures, Dex. What camera do you use, if I may ask? Do you use something to steady your camera, like a tripod or not?
