Saturday hike

@Esoxlucius74

Nice pics...looks like a fine way to spend an afternoon!

On another note, i can see you're from Stockholm. Lovely city!

Im currently in Solna with a colleague on a workrelated trip. Luckily we have some days off, so we're planning a daytrip to Järvafältet and to Tyresta. Any other places you can recommend?

And what about Stockholm? What do the locals recommend, that isnt on the visitstockholm.se site?

Luckily i brought my car, so transport shouldnt be an issue.

Regards, Prop

P.S
Parking fees in Stockholm city are atrocious!!!
Hey!! Cool that you are here!

Well it depends on what you are after... Do you want to roam about forests the Tyresta is a good place, are you after nice scenery, culture, or something else?

Parking fees varies alot, you can find free parking.. (Or so they say, I usualy go by bike... ;) )

Hey Esoxlucius.....

Thanks for posting such lovely pics.....I could almost smell the birch smoke and taste the beer.....I would love to spend time in Sweden's forests........BTW I really like the panorama pic...........I hope you had as good a time as it appears you did....

All Best.....

Hello Mr BK&T!:)

I'm really glad you like my pics!!
I think you should get some credits for them, since it's your design of the blades that made me want to get out there and get a taste of the outdoors!!

So I thank you right back!!:D

Of course You should visit Sweden we have loads of really nice woodland to experience!! You are more than welcome!!

By looking at a map i think Tyresta is the best place for dayhikes og single overnighter.

Do you know any good places the sells outdoor gear? I found Naturkompaniet today and saw Addnature on the net. Havent been into any of them yet.

Im also checking out Knivkompaniet soon to see if they still have the Benchmade sweaters in stock.

What places in Stockholm are an absolute must-see? Im thinking scenery, architecture, tourist attractions, etc. Not so much art/museums. Is the Globen sky-thing worth a trip?

EDIT: Maybe we could meet up and go for a dayhike one of the weekends, if youre up for it. I might be able on the 9th or10th of April.

These stores are good ones you can squeeze 3 in a row if you start at Addnature in Birgerjarlsgatan, Naturkompaniet - Sveavägen, then Playground Adolf Fredriks kyrkogata..

As for the attractions I think Kaknästornet is well worth a visit as a lookout point. (Cheaper than the Globe-ride too) Then you could go see the Wasa ship museum a incredible story of a BIG faliure!
I guess you have already been to the Oldtown/Gamla stan??

If I'm free that weekend It's allways good to get some company for a trip! :)

one of my friends has a camera with that panorama feature - really neat. sure beats doing it the manual way. becker knife, fire, and beer all in one post...you've got the trifecta of awesomeness right there! 3 swedish blondes would've been even better but hey, can't complain.

I thought you guys would like that one!!

(The girls is keeping me warm, since I had to stand so far from the fire...)

Hmmm... this weekend seems like a bad idea.... I got my new kitchen delivered, so I'll probably have to set it up this weekend.. will you be here for long??

Im actually going home next friday, but to tell you the truth, i dont know if im going to be fresh enough for a hike this weekend. Ive been real sick with a terrible sinus infection and cold this last week and im still getting over it. It took a visit to the Vårdcentral and a specialist at CityAkut and 5 different prescription medicines to get me back on track.

And if you have a kitchen to set up, then thats what you have to do

We'll have to meet up another time then and arrange our own European Beckerhead get-together for the members on this side of the pond. How does that sound? :D

Great pics. That panorama shot is really nice, you have some great terrain there!
