Just sitting around tonight so I thought I would do a little knife designing to fit a couple pieces of Damascus I made.

What kinda grind? Would look great with thick stock and deep hollow grinds.

Or thin and flat ground, but I like the first option.

How thick is the damascus, and what handle material?

Bottom drawing looks better to me. Maybe just a fraction more drop to the tip to give the spine a bit more curve...1/8" may be all it needs.

I agree and like the bottom one better. I will continue using my eraser and keep sketching.

These are going to be full flat ground with convex edge. Funny you ask as I just ground my first hollow ground knife yesterday after fooling around with knives off and on for 17 years now. The top drawing the Damascus is .216" ( made by a young fellow that comes to my shop that I'm teaching how to build knives) and the bottom one is .232" thick piece of basket weave Damascus I made. I will take my iPad out to shop to get a few pictures of the Damascus.
I will be using wood that I stabilized for these handles, just not sure what piece yet.

The top billet was made by a young fellow wanting to learn knife making. The bottom 2 are basket weave. The middle one was opened up using ferry flip and bottom one was accordion cut and opened.
