I had heard some negative comments about savson recently. Mainly delays in shipping and communication problems. I placed an order last Saturday for some knives and even asked Randy to check a knife for a few defects. He responded on Sunday in under 24 hours and let me know that my knife will be checked before shipment and thanked me for my order. The knives were shipped first thing Monday and I have it in my hands now (Wednesday). Randy followed through on my request and the knives are awesome.

I'm glad to see that the business is back on track and that the problems others had earlier were either isolated or a temporary hiccup. I will not hesitate to order again, they have unbeatable prices and Randy seems like a great guy.

I guess he thinks I don't deserve his consideration because I'm a first time buyer. Maybe because I only ordered 1 item, he figures I won't be a repeat buyer so it's no loss if I'm an unhappy customer. Hearing these reports from customers who had great customer service makes me even angrier. WTF my money is good enough to accept but I don't deserve the item we contracted for because I may not be a repeat buyer? And because I only bought 1 item, I'm unimportant and don't deserve any information and I should be willing to wait forever for something I already paid for? Is he choosing who he contacts and gives updates based on how much they paid and if they are regular customers and not if they have legitimate concerns? If the item was shipped then tell me so I can make a claim. After all it was insured. If the item was out of stock and on back order inform me so I don't wonder what happened. I just don't want to be left in the dark. At this point, I don't care about the money because I pretty much resigned it as a loss. I'm now at the point where anytime anyone says he gave them good service, I will counter that claim with my experience because I don't want this kind of frustration for anyone else. I'm not the first person he has done this to and probably won't be the last. But I feel that it is my responsibillity to inform as many people as possible about the poor treatment I received from Savson Swords and Knives.
P.S; Read the reviews on Yahoo shopping and you will see the communication problems are much more than just isolated incidences.

Weird then because my service was excellent. I don't know any logical explanation for him selectively not taking care of certain customers. Anyone else who has ordered recently chime in. I don't know if I can really believe you because I have always had fast contact with Randy, even as a first timer. I mean no offense but this is just weird.

His lack of communication and lengthy shipping times have been reported by quite a few people. It is really strange that some people get excellent service, while others get diddly.

I placed an order last month and have not heard a peep since--not even a response to several e-mails I sent (to my knowledge he is now 'e-mail only', if you have a working phone number for him I would love to have it).

Funny thing, he was quick to respond before I placed the order....

It sounds like if he has an item in stock, he's really quick to ship it out. If he doesn't have it in stock and it's on backorder, you'll never hear from him.

That is exactly what I think as well...

I have been waiting on an order for a month now... And a response to close to a dozen emails now...

If he didn't change the credit card immediately, I wouldnt really care, but that burns me up when he acknowledged the order by charging the card, and then wount respond or send the product out...
