And I fell instantly in love. Everything slowed down a bit, soft music started playing, birds were chirping. Man, she looked good; the long, slender curves in just the right places made my stomach melt. I've been familiar with Spyderco knives, though only on a passing basis. Didn't have anything against them, just never seemed to be the right time or place.

30 seconds later my world comes tumbling down to learn that the SpyderHawk is no longer produced. In fact, this is the first time I can remember having zero search returns on E-Bay unless I misspelled something. Not that I'd want to pay some ridiculous price for a piece that I'd want to use, though be be way too reluctant in case I couldn't replace it.

Maybe I could be happy with a Tasman PE or similar, though seeing a side by side picture of the two, it just wouldn't be the same.

Spyderco, you broke my heart :(

Spyderhawks pop up the odd time, have you looked at the upcoming Superhawk?

The retailer doesn't actually expect to sell it for that much.

When the stock level on an item at PVK drops to 0 the price goes to $8686,86 and the picture stays there as an archive of sorts.

I remember seeing one of these at a knife store in Calgary - I can't tell for certain, but I think it may be this exact model. At any rate, the handle and blade materials are the exact same, but it was going for only about $90.
I'm in Halifax now, so I can't double-check that, but I wish I'd taken a closer look.

Hope the photo helps to find your knife size :)

I've seen errors on the Pioneer Valley Knife and Tool site before. I'll bet that price is supposed to be $86.

Yeah, that's the side by side pic I saw on the Spyderco forums. I'll probably just settle for the Tasman. I know I shouldn't say "settle", from what I've read it is quite a wonderful knife ... it just, well, if I've learned one thing, size does matter ;)

O, it's cool...the superhawk should be out anyday now!!!

...wait, haven't we been saying that...for...a while...now...:(

(would be simpler to just make the spyderhawk again wouldn't it?)
