I was driving to dinner today and I saw a ford focus (newer) driving in front of me had Emerson, pro tech, and htm stickers on the back of it. I just though it was kind of neat and figured Id post about it no idea if they are on the forums

Saw a truck with a Spyderco decal on rear Window at the gas station. Looked like he had a Military (3 screw pocket clip) in frp.
Yes other knife nuts are out there. You are not alone.

I do this all the time, and I'm pretty good at it now. The most common knife I see is usually the Kershaw Chive and the Kershaw Leek, but I've never seen anyone carry anything more expensive than that though. No Benchmades, Spydercos, Microtechs, midtechs, etc..., mainly just Kershaws.

There is a guy on USN that lives where I live, and I think there is also one from Bladeforums here as well. I think they are both fairly older than me though; I've also never really spoken with them all that much on the forums. It'd be interesting to meet them though and compare collections.

A knife nut can spot another knife nut and probably identify the knife from the pocket clip.

Saw a guy with a CRKT M-16 at a gunstore once. One of those IT contractors from 'stan. We hit it off and he's apparently a member of my gun club. Pretty cool. :D

I worked with a couple of true knife nuts for a while. Always fun to have that kind of company around :)

We lead a constant battle of "Look what I got!" "Oh yeah? Well check this out!"

I have never really had anyone ask me about my knives or anything. Probably becasue most people have no idea what kind of knife I'm carrying (I guess most people can't spot an SNG hanging out of a pocket lol) I honstly can say I have never talked to in person another "knife nut". I want to get a Spyderco decal for my truck though so people know I am a "knife nut".

Most exotic I've seen are a mini grip, a Cold Steel AK47 and some tanto model...

Mostly see gerber, smith and wesson, and some kershaws.

New coworker has a really old stainless steel Spyderco that I don't even recognize, but he's not much of a knife nut someone just gave him their old knife. It's duller than sin and I've been trying to fix it up for him. First wild Spyderco sighting besides another old coworker who I got to purchase a Tenacious :p

It's really sad that people pay so much money for retail store knives, when you can get so much more knife for the money if you know where to look. I rarely see anyone with anything nicer than a Spyderco or Benchmade. One of our employees had a ZT 0350, by far the nicest I've seen on someone else in person.

A truck driver came by our shop the other day with a 1st generation Spyderco Delica clipped to his pocket. I asked him what it was (even though I already knew) and he told me that it was a "piece of crap he found in a parking lot". I offered to buy it...

I dont see too many knife nuts here in Jacksonville but I'm sure they're here.

A knife nut can spot another knife nut and probably identify the knife from the pocket clip.

Called out one of my dad's buddies on carrying a griptilian, he couldn't understand how I knew what it was just by the pocket clip. He thinks I'm a knife psychic :D

I saw a guy wearing a Alphahunter T at the flea market but before I could chat with him he disappeared into the crowd and I didn't want to look like a stalker.

I grew up here and its home but I'm tired of the city. I want to live out in the country for a little bit

I do not know any knife nuts personally. I know some people who know enough to buy good knives from the top manufacturers, but they are not over-the-top about it. Also they have been taken in by fakes sold on The Bay recently, sad to say. They thought they had purchased a good knife, only for me to prove to them they were fakes. Here where I live, it is not rare at all to see a knife clipped to a pocket. It's commonplace, though usually the knife is a El Cheapo chinese knife purchased at a corner gas station for $5.00 or less. Lots of El Cheapo automatics sold by the same places here as well.

I was waiting outside of one of my classes last fall and a fellow student had a SOG Flash 1 drop out of his backpack and onto a table. The girl in front of him looked at him like he had 5 eyes and tentacles. I was walking behind another student in the Spring and he had a benchmade clipped to his pocket, I couldn't tell what kind though.

A dude in my German class carries a knife in FRP, but methinks its a Gerber..
